Earth Day Texas and the nonprofit Texas Music Project are holding the inaugural Earth Day Texas Rising Stars Music Competition and Talent Showcase on April 26 and 27 at Fair Park, in Dallas, for musicians between the ages of 13 and 19. Texas teens can enter the competition as a performer or songwriter by visiting Facebook.com/TexasMusicProject, where fans will vote for their favorite contestants.

On the second day of the music showcase, five performer finalists will take the stage to play for a panel of judges, composed of music industry professionals. Winners will receive recording time, a video of their performance, gigs, industry consultation and other prizes.
