Nonprofit Fort Worth Bike Sharing just has received a $35,000 donation from the Green Mountain Energy Sun Club to add solar to nine new and one existing bike sharing stations around the city in 2015. These solar donations will be used to install solar panels to power the kiosks where bikes are available to anyone for checkout, making this pollution-free mode of transportation even more sustainable.

Fort Worth Bike Sharing’s mission is to enhance the Fort Worth community by providing an affordable, efficient, environmentally-friendly bike share program powered in part by clean energy from the sun. Annual memberships are available for $80 and are accepted in more than 20 participating cities including Austin, San Antonio and Houston.
