Party in the Park Filled with Candlelight

Candlelight at Old City Park in downtown Dallas, a 43-year tradition, will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., December 13 and 14, with the theme of holiday music and carols. The festivities are held on 13 acres of decorated buildings, flickering candles lining the paths, strolling carolers, rides with Nip and Tuck’s donkey-drawn carriage and crafts.

Attractions include a Timeless Trains exhibit in the depot, photos with St. Nicholas, local dancers, choirs and other entertainers. Historic buildings are dressed in traditional holiday decorations from 1840 to 1910 and interpreters in traditional costume throughout the museum bring history to life.

The Dallas Heritage Village Guild is cooking up tasty treats for their annual Candlelight Bake Sale and Candlelight favorite Original Kettle Corn will return. Food trucks such as Easy Slider, Rock and Roll Tacos and Ruthie’s will be on hand and wine and beer are available.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for children and children under 4 free. The Park at Dallas Heritage Village is located at 515 S. Harwood St. For more information, call 214-421-5141 or visit DallasHeritageVillage.org.
