Sustainability Conference in Lancaster

A conference, (head, heart and hands) H³: A Responsible Pathway, will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 13, at  Cedar Valley College Gymnasium, in Lancaster, featuring three tracks:People, Planet and Economy.

The keynote speaker isGeorge Bandy, Jr., vice president of sustainability for Interface, one of the most admired companies in America, according to Forbes magazine. He also serves aschairman of the United States Green Building Council, concentrating on global relationships.

The three tracks feature speakers from the municipal governments of Dallas, Cedar Hill and Lancaster, medical organizations, nonprofits and churches, as well as Texas A&M Agrilife Research, North Texas Renewable Energy Group, Texas Campaign for the Environment, Urban Acres and Fossil Rim.

The conference will teach participants toobserve patterns, create by mimicking nature, make simpler choices to get more for less, work smarter rather than harder, rethinkgarbage, reduce the need to earn, use biological solutions before technological ones, use one element for multiple purposesand createredundancy back-up solutions that solve more than one problem.
