Autumn Outings for the Adventurer

The Dallas Sierra Club is now taking reservations for its two fall outings. The Club ‘s goal is to explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the Earth and they engage in wilderness outings, waterway cleanups, hiking, mountain climbing and other group activities to further these  goals

The Beavers Bend State Park Annual Fall Gathering is October 16 -18. In the mountainous region of southeast Oklahoma, this trip is for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and stages; family, couples, singles are all welcome. Families have  a choice of  rustic cabin or tent camping. Trout fishing, fly-fishing clinics and guided horseback rides make exploring Beavers Bend fun, easy Autumn in Dallas TXand kid-friendly.

The Club is also offering two guided backpacking trips, Beginner Backpacking to the Caney Creek Wilderness and Backpack at Buffalo National River, Arkansas. During a round-trip nine mile hike, October 10 to October 11, beginner backpackers will experience a relatively easy hike along streams and a waterfall. For more experienced backpackers, an autumn excursion in northern Arkansas will occur October 28 to November 1. Backpackers will be surrounded by historic structures, limestone bluffs and cemeteries connected by trails.
