The Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex recently opened its ninth Whole Foods Market in the Colleyville Downs Shopping Center, 4801 Colleyville Boulevard, at the corner of Highway 26 and Glades Road, in Colleyville. The 44,000-squarefoot store strives to be green from the ground up, with skylights to save on energy and locally sourced reclaimed oak and pine throughout; the bar top is made out reclaimed bleachers, as are several bike racks.

This store also has the only grocery store Neapolitan-style pizza section in in the world, a sushi station and large selection of Texas/Oklahoma-raised grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chickens and Colorado buffalo. It sells 60 items made in the Metroplex, including beer and cheese.

The store sports an enhanced, beer and wine bar with a separate entrance from the parking lot, and plans include themed events like pizza-and-wine night and “Yappy hours” when dogs are allowed.
