MegaFest Seeks to Unite and Renew Spirit

MegaFest, the multigenerational, family-friendly festival hosted by T.D. Jakes Ministries to be held from August 20 through 22, is the nation’s largest inspirational festival that brings $41 million in economic impact to the downtown Dallas business district. Since its inception in 2004 it has reached nearly 1 million people. More than 85,000 people from more than 30 countries are expected to attend this year.

MegaFest 2015 guests, presenters and performers include Sheryl Underwood, Marcus Wiley, Joyce Meyer, Pastor Sheryl Brady, Patrick Winfield, Sarah James, Tye Tribbet, Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Hill Harper and Tasha Smith.

“MegaFest harkens back to a simpler time, when families spent quality time together,” says Thomas Dexter “T.D.” Jakes. “With so much chaos and turmoil ensuing in the world today, it will be critical for families to reconnect and recharge their batteries in a fun‐filled, inspirational environment. It is also a great opportunity to showcase the best that Dallas has to offer, from its dynamic business community to its arts and entertainment to its renowned shopping, restaurants and hospitality venues.”

MegaFest 2015 will be held at American Airlines Center, the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Dallas, the Omni Dallas Hotel and other venues throughout the city. It is the nation’s largest multi‐day family festival for bringing together elements of faith, inspiration, music, empowerment, comedy and film in one  environment.

A highlight of the Festival will be  unveiling of the results of  Conversations with America,  a nationwide, seven-part opinion poll-based research effort. “Conversations with America is a critical element in our yearlong preparation for MegaFest,” says Jakes. “The church has always been at the epicenter of the lives of our core audience. We undertook this study to ensure that our offerings are fully aligned with what is truly on people’s hearts and minds—men, women and youth—so that MegaFest will speak directly to people’s worries, doubts, fears, joys, hopes and dreams.”
