Bolsa Mercado

A brand-new espresso café and wine market, Bolsa Mercado, in Oakcliff, two doors down from the Bolsa restaurant, has opened in the old Kemp Garage space. The vision of partners Christopher Zielke, Christopher and Jessica Jeffers (of Bolsa and SMOKE), along with Royce Ring and Alex Urrunaga (of Plan B Group) has been to build Bolsa Mercado as a premier wine market and take-out or sit-in café, using authentic and existing design elements to create a dynamic 4,000-square-foot open space with the feeling of comfort and ease similar to its sister restaurant.

The specialty menu was created to include only the freshest of ingredients; a retail beer and wine market offers a hand-selected inventory of small production wines and craft beers; a specialty market with local artisan chocolate, Texas olive oil, handcrafted specialty cheese, and a seasonal array of micro greens, fresh herbs, mushrooms, veggies and fruits from local growers and farms.

A 20-seat community table, casual lounge seating and a 20-seat patio are available for those who want to linger. Meals prepared by Executive Chef Jeff Harris, such as fresh-frozen gourmet pizzas, in-house pastas and more are available in eco-friendly packaging for take-home.

Harris intends to build a hyper-local charcuterie program at Bolsa Mercado over the next six to 12 months alongside sous chef Matt Balke, who will be running the day-to-day operation at Mercado.
