Big D Climb is Racing to the Top

The biggest stair-climbing event in North Texas, the Big D Climb, will take place for the fifth consecutive year at 8 a.m., January 26, at one of Downtown Dallas’ most recognizable skyscrapers, Fountain Place, to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. More than 1,500 climbers are expected to race up 52 flights of stairs.

The event is open to people of all ages and fitness levels, and includes a special division for firefighters racing in full gear. A new feature of the Big D Climb this year is the Commercial Real Estate Challenge, which pits commercial real estate companies and their employees against each other.

Registration includes an official Big D Climb long-sleeve shirt, snacks and goodies the day of the race, training recommendations from the trainers at 24 Hour Fitness and a pass to use their facilities to train. Climbers may represent corporations, organizations, individuals and families. Awards are given for fastest climber overall, fastest climber by age division, fastest team and top fundraising individual and team.

Cost is $45. Location: Fountain Place, 1445 Ross Ave. For more information, call Libby Kaczmarek at 972-996-5928 or visit BigDClimb.org.
