Zero Waste Workshop with Gary Liss

Gary Liss, a national zero waste advocate of and special advisor to the GrassRoots Recycling Network, will present An Introduction to Zero Waste and Resource Management on February 6 and 7, at North Lake College in Dallas.

This workshop will demonstrate how zero waste can be a key part of community and business sustainability plans and help contribute to reducing greenhouse gases and global cooling. Zero waste businesses have diverted more than 90 percent of their waste from landfills and incineration. Zero waste communities have adopted plans to implement those goals.

The workshop will focus on connections between zero waste and greenhouse gases, job potential from zero waste and benefits to businesses of pursuing zero waste. The workshop will also involve a class project where participants organize into teams that tackle a real world example of how to get to zero waste.

Cost of the workshop is $144 for the Fri. session and $99 for Sat. For more information, call 972- 273-3000 or visit NorthLakeCollege.edu.
