Trader Joe’s Grocery Arrives in DFW

The California-based grocery chain Trader Joe's is opening three locations in our community this year. The first will be on Lower Greenville Avenue, in Ft. Worth, then one at Preston Road and Park Boulevard, and finally, 2701 Hulen Street, between West Vickery Boulevard and Bellaire Drive South, in Dallas.

Trader Joe’s carries domestic and imported food products that include artisan breads, 100 percent pure juices, international frozen entrees, deli items and other groceries. Trader Joes’ started in California in the late 1950s. Hallmarks of the stores are the cedar-planked walls and store employees dressed in cool Hawaiian shirts.

Trader Joe’s is a welcome addition to the green, healthy and sustainable scene here in the Dallas Metroplex. It joins such stalwarts as Central Market, Whole Foods Market, Sprouts and Natural Grocers, to provide DFW residents the widest availability of choices in natural and organic foods. As well, it provides an additional outlet for the many fresh, natural and organic products available from Metroplex area growers and farmers.

Trader Joe’s spokesperson Alison Mochizuki says, “Dallas is a place we’ve wanted to be for a long time. We are a company that grows in a very controlled and thoughtful way, in order to maintain the Trader Joe’s customer experience.”
