Inaugural Film Festival is Part of Earth Day Celebration

The first EARTHxFilm, founded by Trammell S. Crow and Michael Cain, a Sundance award winner and co-founder of the Dallas International Film Festival, will run from from April 19 through 23. It utilizes the power of film to build on a foundation of partnerships with influencers, thought leaders, top brands and environmental organizations around the world.

With strong educational programming, the inaugural festival will showcase films and emerging media that explore conservation, science and the environment, and honor the heroes working to protect our planet. Together, we’re turning awareness into action and impact.

EARTHxFilm is integrated within the main footprint of Earth Day, Texas in Fair Park and other venues in Dallas, with film premieres, outdoor film screenings, an eco-VR spotlight, music, art, youth filmmaking workshops, book signings and a Green Celebrity Gala, capped off with an awards ceremony. EARTHxFilm will align this experience for the films and filmmakers with the organizations and audience participating in Earth Day Texas 2017.

EARTHxFilm highlights film premieres; 30 screenings, EARTHx Gala; outdoor screenings; visual art programs; featured artist; green star award; musical events; and book signings. Program and tracks include The VR Experience; a filmmaker lounge; press room; and lounge.

Special events and programs include an international impact program; 50/50 section; best of the fests; audience awards; awareness to action summit; master classes; green pitch; book to film panels; youth filmmaking workshop and competition; and a conservation conference.

Cain states “Our intention with EARTHxFilm is to create a place where environmental film can be amplified and lead to impact. EARTHxFilm is a hub where new ideas can be sparked and where filmmakers, activists, scientists and the film business can make lasting and impactful connections.”
