Even the State Fair is Bigger in Texas

Celebrating 131 years of tradition in the fall, the State Fair of Texas will return for another season of food, festivities and family fun beginning September 29 in historic Fair Park with the theme of Celebrating Texans. Admission includes more than 100 daily performances, 70 Midway rides, a plethora of Midway games and endless activities across the fairgrounds.

Commemorative exhibits include Texas in the First World War and America and World War I on the centennial of “the war to end all wars”. Big Tex Urban Farms is a revolutionary urban garden system in the heart of Fair Park that serves as an outdoor learning space while providing fresh, organic produce to the surrounding communities. Agriculture in Texas is a new exhibit in the Science Place building, highlighting innovations in urban agriculture.

World of Magic, Backyard Circus, Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangment, Snakes of Texas, the Honeybee Tree and Butterfly House are all part of this year’s fun.
