Audubon Nature Center Opening In Cedar Hill

A new Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center at Cedar Hill will open with tours and events, September 10 and 11, including free guided hikes, building tours, guest speakers, animal encounters and children’s activities.
Located 16 miles south of downtown Dallas, in Cedar Hill, Dogwood Canyon is part of the White Rock Escarpment. Nowhere in North Texas can one find a greater variety of rare species than in Dogwood Canyon.
The opening is a crowning achievement for Audubon Texas and Cedar Hill, which boasts some the most beautiful and well-preserved natural environments in the Southwest, including Cedar Hill State Park, Cedar Ridge Preserve, Calabria Preserve and Cedar Mountain Preserve.
Audubon Texas is the state program of the National Audubon Society that works with local chapters, local and state agencies and public and private landowners to restore and preserve millions of acres of natural habitat and to educate students and adults.
