The second annual Texas State Veggie Fair is returning to Dallas from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., October 23, at picturesque Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake. The fair is a plant-based and eco-minded event, offering food, live music, renowned speakers, cooking demos, fun for the kids and other entertainment. The family-friendly event will also appeal to anyone interested in learning more about living a cruelty-free lifestyle.

Back this year is the Vegan Fried Foods competition, judged by a panel of food experts, featuring fried vegan dishes like last year’s winner, the Fried Vegan Reuben Sandwich. Leading up to the fair will be the first-ever Texas State Veggie Fair Weekend, offering two full days of festivities, including a special screening of the new documentary, Vegucated, at the historic Texas Theater Saturday afternoon, and an evening pre-party hosted by Mercy For Animals, a national nonprofit animal protection organization dedicated to defending the rights of farmed animals.
