Sierra Club Outings for Everyone

Dallas area Sierra Club chapter and group outings are generally open to members and non-members alike. A few outings may require membership, but most do not. No fees are charged either, except for incidental expenses like park-entry costs. Outings leaders are Sierra Club volunteers, and the range of outings is as diverse as their interests. Depending on where you are, you can choose from day hikes, peak scrambles, bicycling, cross-country skiing, bird-watching, conservation-oriented walks, or forays into the remaining natural areas of our major cities. Sierra Club outings are a great way to find out about local conservation issues while enjoying the great outdoors.

Children are welcome on most day hikes when accompanied by an adult. Contact the outing’s leader to determine if the outing is appropriate for your child. Pets are not allowed unless the outing is designated as a “pets permitted outing.” Firearms are not allowed. Outing leaders have the final word before and during the outing they are leading and may set minimum fitness, experience and/or equipment requirements for their trip.
