New Name, New Home for Plano Green Festival

The city of Plano has sponsored Live Green Expo since 2006 at the Plano Centre; now, one of the longest running eco-fests in the Metroplex has been renamed Learn 2 Live Green and will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 14, at The Shops of Legacy, at the North Dallas Tollway and Legacy Drive, in Plano.

Learn 2 Live Green is designed to entertain and educate people about protecting the environment by saving resources, minimizing waste and dropping toxic products and materials. The fun, family event features exhibits, presentations on a variety of environmental topics, workshops, demonstrations, entertainment, green art and children's activities. Green topics include fair trade shopping; energy; alternative transportation; food and agriculture; green building and remodeling; indoor air quality; lifestyle and recreation; urban gardening; waste reduction; and water conservation.

Because of the new outdoor venue, there will be fewer exhibitors, but more featured events and speakers, including Howard Garrett, Robyn O’Brien, Charles Fishman and Dr. Deb Tolman, as well as a Green Art swap, BMX stunt riders and a Solar Car Challenge.

Admission is free. For more information, call 972-769-4264 or visit Learn2LivegGreen.com.
