Recycle All That Jazz

The Garland Healthy Living Expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., September 21 at the Curtis Culwell Center. Healthy Earth exhibitors will provide information about water and electric conservation, water pollution, recycling, safety, gardening and green alternatives. Healthy You exhibitors offer free health screenings, information and flu vaccinations.

Recycle Row, comprised of local community nonprofits such as Goodwill, provides a free outlet for recycling non-traditional materials like batteries, pet products, electronics (computers, televisions and cell phones), clothing, books, CDs, records, tapes, DVDs and VHS tapes, dishes, home d├ęcor, toys and medical equipment. Documents will be shredded up to four boxes per vehicle. Indoor recycling stations will accept shoes, medications, eyeglasses, plastic bags and plastic packaging material.
