Addison Oktoberfest Held in September

Addison Oktoberfest will take place September 19 through 22, in Addison Circle Park. Noted by USA Today as one of the nation’s 10 best Oktoberfests, it features Bavarian food, entertainment, traditional food dances, children's entertainment and more. The timing is set to coincide with the opening of the world-renown Oktoberfest celebration in Munich.
Events include a 5k and 1k run, bier barrel rolling, dachshund parade and races, yodeling competition, a German spelling bee and he official tapping of the keg. New to the festival is the Kaffee und Kuchen, a stone house that will be transformed into a traditional German coffee and sweets shop with an array of treats like Black Forest cake and lebkuchen.
Local companies are encouraged to form teams for the competitions. Sponsors so far include Albertsons, Time Warner Cable, KRLD and Green Mountain Energy.
