Consider the Multiple Dimensions of Cancer

Aug 02, 2013 07:01PM ● By Dr. Constantine A. Kotsanis

It’s a surprising fact to most people that cancer cells are present in almost everyone’s body. When a person’s immune system is strong, cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors. When a person has cancer, it can indicate the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, diet and lifestyle factors.

To overcome multiple nutritional deficiencies, dietary changes and correct supplementation must occur to strengthen the immune system. Because cancer feeds on sugar, eliminating sugar from the diet cuts off an important food supply to cancer cells. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment and perish in an alkaline one. The best anti-cancer foods come from the plant kingdom. A diet made up of 80 percent fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruit helps create an alkaline environment in the body.

Diet does matter, and cancer has “evolved into a dietary disease,” according to the World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute of Cancer, as reported in 2007 Summary on Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer: A Global Perspective.

One protocol available to assist a patient in reaching an alkaline state, a culmination of ancient and modern science, follows a 30-day regime of fasting, juicing, herbs and consumption of healthy vegetables and fruits. This regime allows the body to concentrate on eliminating toxins, which increases consumption of every micronutrient from a mostly plant-based diet.

Because this program increases the bioavailability of the micronutrients to the organs, the function of vital organs such as the digestive tract, liver and kidneys is optimized and the body is invigorated. There are also ways to support the body and immune system during this and other processes, such as intravenous vitamin and mineral infusions, for example.

Cancer cells also cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily and breathing deeply help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Remember that the spirit controls the mind and the mind controls the body, therefore, it could be said that cancer is a disease of the mind, body and also spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior survive, as will a strong and positive belief system.

Anger, lack of forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment—a cancer paradise. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit, relax and enjoy life. In life, we must not wait for that perfect moment to really live; rather, we must learn to live in every moment.
