Keep Grapevine Beautiful with a Trash & Treasures Waterway Cleanup

Sep 03, 2013 05:45PM

Continuing its mission to preserve and enhance the local natural environment, Keep Grapevine Beautiful (KGVB) will host the fifth annual Trash & Treasures Waterway Cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon, October 5, at the Lake Grapevine Trawick Pavilion. Lunch, prizes and giveaways will be presented following the cleanup.

This community-wide shoreline cleanup combines litter collection with fun and games. Volunteers are needed to collect litter via foot, kayak and canoe while also searching for Mardi Gras beads to win prizes. This year's theme is Healthy Water, Healthy Lifestyle. Let's make an active choice to get healthy!

Participating in Trash & Treasures is a great activity for family, friends, community organizations and school groups as a team-building exercise and even earning volunteer hours

Location: 2700 Darren G. Medlin Drive (inside Oak Grove sports complex). Volunteers can sign up online at or email [email protected]. For more information,
