A daylong festival June 15 in the Trinity River corridor, west of downtown Dallas,will celebrate the grand opening of the area’s four newest amenities: the Continental Avenue pedestrian bridge; the West Dallas Gateway Plaza; the Trinity Skyline Trail and the redesigned Sylvan Avenue Bridge. Twenty different activities will take place during the day, and most are free.

Highlights include a Long-Table Gospel Brunch; a Moon in June Danceathon; a Pachanga Party; a wildflower driving range; the Trinity Revel Portals Project; the Revel Run 5K; the river basin kids playground; and bridge fun zones.

Because it is Father’s Day, themed activities include a Vintage Vehicle Exhibition; Pop-A-Razzi Photo Op; and a Rolling Ribbon Cutting. Also, Big Thought will be presenting a free sociallearning event on the new Continental Avenue pedestrian bridge, involving youngsters to help produce a large physical and digital artwork; interact with street performers, puppeteers and musicians; and design, build and fly kites. Their multimedia and computer studio, the GameFame Bus. will also be on the bridge.
