Run for the Environment Celebrates Our Trees

Aug 31, 2014 11:53PM

Green Source DFW, North Texas’s popular online green news publication, is hosting its inaugural fundraising 5K run/walk October 11 at Cedar Hill State Park, with the theme of Trees: the Environmental Warriors. Participants can enjoy the scenic 1,800-acre hilly wooded preserve overlooking Joe Pool Lake, about 10 miles southwest of Dallas and 25 miles southeast of Fort Worth.

To promote tree planting, each runner will take home a tree, courtesy of Preservation Tree Services and the Texas Trees Foundation. Event proceeds support Green Source DFW, a project of the nonprofit Memnosyne Institute, and its mission to advance the environmental movement in North Texas.
