Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture Sustainability Book Group

The new Sustainability Book Group at the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture grew out of recommendations from members and participants in the institute’s annual sustainability forums, which provide in-depth information on timely and important sustainability issues with national experts and thought leaders.
Institute members wanted more and started their expansion of sustainability discussions with the book group, which seeks enlightenment through the best fiction and non-fiction texts on the subject. Each session will take up a new topic from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., led by an expert facilitator among Institute Fellows and guest instructors.
Upcoming topics include Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring on October 27 and William McDonough’s The Upcycle, with a discussion led by Dr. Adam Briggle, UNT, on November 24.
Tuition is $80 for members, $100 for nonmembers, $30 for teachers or $25, $35 and $10 per meeting. BYO text; limited supply available at the Institute. Location: 2719 Routh St., Dallas. For more information, call 214-871-2440 or visit DallasInstitute.org.
