Texas SmartScape Tour of Coppell

Keep Coppell Beautiful Environmental Education will be hosting the 12th annual self-guided Texas SmartScape Tour of Coppell from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., October 4. Maps will be available at Helping Hands Garden, located next to the city of Coppell Town Center, beginning at 8:30 a.m. This tour features five unique Coppell residential landscapes and gardens, as well as the two Coppell community gardens.

Homeowners and garden experts will be available to speak to visitors and answer questions. Participants can gain firsthand knowledge about starting or expanding their own SmartScape landscape and managing compost bins, as well as the benefits of organic fertilizer, mulching and the use of rain barrels.

Carrie Dubberley, of Dubberley Landscapes, will teach a class, Where to Begin in Your Transformation in Design Your Own SmartScape, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., October 11, at the Biodiversity Education Center.
