A new wellness fair in North Texas, the Holistic Festival of Life, hosted by Mystic Mandala, aims to showcase alternative and integrative therapies, holistic practitioners and environmentally friendly businesses and organizations from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., July 19 in a fun festival atmosphere at the Plano Convention Center.
According to Vijay Warman, founder of Mystic Mandala, a holistic center in Plano, there is no other event in the area that brings together this unique combination of integrative and holistic health vendors, speakers and breakout sessions, along with music, dance and other entertainment. He envisions attendees being able to sample and experience aromatherapy and many other alternative and integratives therapies, visit with the owners of a natural food grocery store and get advice from experts about cutting their energy bill in half by installing solar panels at this inaugural event. “We want to show people the wide variety of businesses and services that are available in the community for better well-being , healthy living and sustainable lifestyles,” states Warman – in fun, festival type of environment.
Jennifer Rae, director for the Holistic Festival of Life, says they hope to draw as many 200 vendors and are targeting a wide variety of independent practitioners specializing in wellness practices such as yoga, meditation, massage therapy, herbal nutrition, naturopath, acupuncture and chiropractic along with experts versed in the arts of feng shui, vastushastra (an ancient science of architecture) and intuitive guidance.“DFW has a big need for this,” says Rae. “The community has been growing in this direction. They're really starving for a more conscious-minded and wellness-oriented community event.”
Admission and parking is free. For more information or to participate in the festival as a vendor, contact Jennifer Rae at 469-401-4777 or visit HolisticFestivalOfLife.com.
