Anyone curious about what it would be like to hike on Spain’s Camino de Santiago may wish to spend the weekend of June 19 of 21 at High Hope Ranch’s Taste of the Camino, in Glen Rose. High Hope plans to transform their ranch into a little piece of Spain for participants looking for a place for a hearty hike or a contemplative walk. Hiking will start at 3:00 Friday. The closing ceremony will be at noon on Sunday. Hikes range from 2.5 miles to 10 miles daily, with options to hike longer or shorter trails.

Peregrinos(pilgrims or hikers), can get a taste of traditional overnight housing, called albergues created for the Camino. The package includes albergue stays, two dinners prepared by a Spanish chef, breakfasts, aperegrino passport, maps and a preparation package. Little cafés featuring café con leche and both traditional and local snacks for purchase will be set up in restful spots on the trails.
