Go Green at Garland’s Healthy Living Expo

The City of Garland will host the 2015 Healthy Living Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on September 19. The event includes recycling stations, kid-friendly outdoor activities, stop and learn sessions with various exhibitors and a 5K race sponsored by the City of Garland Water and Stormwater Management departments.
The H20 5K race is designed to help educate the community about water conservation and pollution. Upon completion of the race, runners will have the opportunity to enjoy health screenings, seasonal vaccines and green living exhibits inside of the Curtis Culwell Center, where the expo will take place.
The annual healthy living expo features helpful insights for nutrition, exercise, composting, climate friendly landscaping and more. All activities, exhibits and information are intended to help visitors live healthier, more sustainable lives. The Garland Animal Shelter will bring along furry four-legged companions, ready for a new family to adopt them into their home.
