Experience Butterflies, Dinosaurs and Exploration at the Heard

This fall, preschool children will have the opportunity to explore nature in various classes at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. In each class, preschoolers will engage in hands-on learning experiences that promote an early connection to nature. Classes will feature observation, hands-on activities and interactions with live animals.

Kids can walk among free-flying butterflies and other pollinators in the Native Texas Butterfly House and Garden on September 7. Participants will discover more about the Texas State butterfly, its migration pattern, life cycle and how to protect its habitat during the “Amazing Monarchs” butterfly talk.

On September 19, the Heard will showcase animatronic dinosaurs in a natural environment, and on October 17, families attending Halloween at the Heard will enjoy an evening full of activities, including a family-friendly movie at the outdoor amphitheater stage. It is strongly that guests bring insect repellant, flashlights, water-resistant blankets and/or stadium seats for this ghostly event.

The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 1 Nature Pl., McKinney, TX. For more information, visit HeardMuseum.org.
