DART Approves 9.6 Million Dollars in Dallas Street Repairs

Dallas street repair projects have been approved by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board after the city identified 13 projects totaling $9,619,105.

The repairs highlight new project categories including: design and construction of quiet zones on DART rail lines, sidewalk zones on DART bus routes, design and construction of traffic signal priority, and complete streets projects such as improved bus stops, pedestrian crossings and bus lanes.

City of Dallas staff will take the lead in procuring, constructing, supervising, inspecting and making any future changes to the plans necessary to complete it.

A Street Repair Policy approved in 1994, and updated in 1997 and 2016, permits DART to cooperate with service area cities to accomplish needed repairs.
