Dallas Race for the Cure to be Virtual This Year
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the annual Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk will be held October 24 online. On event day, participants will hear stories from cancer survivors and those living with breast cancer to learn about the impact of Komen's research discoveries, public policy advocacy and direct patient support services. Then they can tread 6,000 steps on the sidewalks of their own neighborhood to earn a Virtual Finisher Medal.
Carrie Stovall, vice president of peer to peer fundraising at Susan G. Komen says “Breast cancer doesn’t stop just because of COVID-19. The added benefit of this new virtual experience is that people who previously couldn’t attend an in-person event will now be able to participate and be part of the community our events create.”
