Healthy Living Healthy Planet Radio Begins 2nd Season
Now in its second season of on-air broadcasting Saturdays at 3 p.m. on iHeartRadio 1190AM Talk Radio, in North Texas, and simultaneously around the world, on the iHeart app, Healthy Living Healthy Planet Radio is also available as a podcast and on You Tube.
Hosted by Natural Awakenings Dallas Fort Worth publisher Bernice Butler, the program helps people understand the relationship between their health and the health of the planet so they realize that caring about the environment is a must. Butler says, “Our goal is to help create environmental empathy among ordinary citizens going about their lives.”
Each week, Butler interviews experts in medicine, science, advocacy, policy and research, activists and more on topics such as global warming and climate change, extreme weather events, plastic pollution, air quality, children’s health and more. Of particular interest to North Texans was a recent show on how climate change impacts allergies, asthma and chronic diseases, with Jeffrey Demain, M.D., and Dr. David Dyjack of the National Environmental Health Association, discussing how the pollens that vex many of us are growing more potent and more voluminous.
