Kudos Trinity Park

U.S. Secretary of the Interior David L. Bernhardt has officially designated the Trinity River Paddling Trail as a National Parks Service national recreation trail. Located in the middle of America’s fourth-largest metro area with a population of 7.5 million people, the trail traverses peaceful countryside and the bustle of world-class sites along its 130-mile length. It spans nine cities and three counties, contains 21 official canoe launches and allows access to three major river tributaries, the Clear Fork, West Fork and Elm Fork, as well as 40 miles of the main stem of the Trinity River.

These facilities provide city-maintained parking and a means of launching a canoe, kayak, or raft into the river. The achievement was years in the making by the Trinity Coalition, in its goal is to transform the Trinity River corridor into a nationally recognized conservation and recreation area.
