Buying produce and goods locally supports family farmers, protects the genetic diversity of crops and reduces environmental impact. The very existence of these local “essential services” has been a service to our families and to our economy this last year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that we seem to be emerging from it, we are hopefully more appreciative than ever of the abundance of opportunities afforded us here in the Dallas -Fort Worth Metroplex to unite with farmers, connect with the soil and savor the flavors and colors of the season.
