The H-E-B | Central Market Plano Balloon Festival will fill the North Texas sky with color September 17 through 20 at Oak Point Park and Red Tail Pavilion, marking 47 years of hot-air ballooning in Plano and Collin County.

This year’s theme, Shared Horizon, celebrates the sense of connection created as balloon pilots, families and spectators gather beneath the same sky. More than 35 colorful hot-air balloons and special shapes are expected to participate, with morning balloon launches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday and evening balloon glows Thursday through Saturday, weather permitting.

The four-day, family-friendly festival will also feature live music, skydiving exhibitions, fireworks, food vendors, local artisans and children’s activities. The Plano Symphony Orchestra Big Band will perform Thursday evening, with additional musical entertainment throughout the weekend.

The nonprofit festival also provides participating community organizations opportunities to raise funds and awareness for their programs and services.
