The annual Holistic Festival of Life & Wellness will take place on December 11 as the largest festival of its kind in Texas, attended by 7,000 people. It was started to introduce people to all the tools readily available for awareness, spiritual ascension and physical and mental wellness. Free of charge, the event features 180 holistic vendors, eight hours of yoga, ecstatic dance classes, a meditation hall, dance and music performances and a host of speakers.

“My first meditation for kundalini awakening was at age five,” says Vijay Warman, founder of the Holistic Festival of Life & Wellness, The Festival of Colors, Mystic Mandala and Dhyana Yoga Center. Growing up in New Delhi, India, he was always inclined to seek out gurus, teachers and guides with his father. Warman has been blessed by many masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Acharya Rajneesh, Osho, Satya Sai Baba, Nirmala Mata, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru and others.

“Spirituality and talks of meditation were by far the most interesting thing I came across. Imagine a child learning that there is a serpent fire within, and the curiosity that child would gather,” says Warman. Today, he is a realized mystic; a man whose passion spills into everything he encounters and does.

“I wanted to reach out to other holistic practitioners and bring all of us together under one roof so people can walk in and benefit from chromotherapy, chiropractic, Pranic Healing, Vedic chanting, herbal nutrition and so much more without having to worry about how much it costs,” explains Warman.

He believes in the power of giving, and delivers food to 80 to 100 women in safe houses every week, “What good is your spiritual path if you are not giving back?” asks Warman. “What good is my manifestation and the whole ideology if I’m not able to service people? I am very blessed to the support of community and create support for community.”

At Mystic Mandala, Warman’s holistic center and metaphysical store in Plano, many healers work together to help people in whatever areas they feel a deficit; be it through meditation, intuitive guidance, feng shui, ayurveda or yoga. He spends time with visitors, using his unique ability to explain and guide them with the ancient secrets from the Vedas and Shastras, and uses tools of Vedic astrology, chakra balancing, intuitive guidance, vastu shastra, feng shui and others.

His approach is not fixed to one belief system or philosophy, but anything that originates in love from the heart. He offers meditation classes every Thursday night at his studio at 7 pm, where attendees can meet him and experience connectivity with their true self. Also on the schedule at Mystic Mandala are movie nights and a meditation meet-up for girls from 12 to 21 years old called Learning to Fly, which is focused on supporting young women to realize their true potential.

Warman also hosts Sufi Rockers, a three-hour radio show at 9 p.m. Fridays, where he talks abou a spiritual topic, bringing stories from spiritual masters such Lao Tzu and Kabir. He also plays the songs of non-commercial Southeast Asian rock bands from India and Pakistan, and even brings the artists to perform in Dallas twice a year.

Dhyana Yoga Center is another of Warman’s many contributions to the community. His traditional yoga studio in heart of Plano provides certified teacher training courses, classes, workshops, mantra meditation and much more.
