Montopolis performs "The Living Coast'"

Green Source DFW, its parent nonprofit The Memnosyne Institute, along with the Dallas Sierra Club host The Living Coast, a live multimedia performance by Montopolis, an Austin-based ensemble. The Living Coast is a gorgeous nature film, dynamic storytelling and live music experience that explores the Texas gulf coast. Montopolis is an orchestral rock group that features members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Okkervil River and the Polyphonic Spree touring with an environmental scientist. The Living Coast concert is a love letter to the region as well as an opportunity to discuss broader environmental challenges. The performance features the music of Montopolis, film by Anlo Sepulveda (Yakona) and archival photography of the Great Galveston Hurricane, the deadliest storm in U.S. history. Surfers and sailors, shrimpers and oilmen, poets and scientists all share their stories in interviews about this complicated region of serene beauty, vast industry and incredible contradictions.
