Residents of Dallas and Desoto are invited to free Zoom webinar learn about how to join a solar co-ops, including a thorough overview of solar technology, economics, and financing.

Dallas area residents looking to install solar panels for the best rate can now sign up for free for the Dallas and DeSoto Solar Co-op. There are spots available for 43 more residents or business owners to join.

The co-op, run by the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors (SUN) and other local organizations, is free to join and open to homeowners and business owners in DeSoto and Dallas. Together, co-op members will learn about solar energy and leverage bulk purchasing to ensure competitive pricing and quality solar installations. Depending on interest and the installer the group selects, members may have the option to install batteries and electric vehicle chargers along with solar.

This opportunity comes shortly after Congress passed COVID-19 relief legislation that extends the federal solar Investment Tax Credit, so residents can get 26% of their funds back on their taxes if they install this year.
