Texas mountain lions face incredible odds. Hunting and trapping remain unlimited as habitat shrinks across the state. There is no data on how many exist, and no mandatory requirement to report harvested lion. Ironically, they’re classified as imperiled (S2)/threatened (S3); yet they persist in spite of our actions, especially in west Texas.
