The Welder Wildlife Foundation’s Home on the Range workshop and Rangelands curriculum provides hands-on, active learning with many outdoor activities to help K-5th grade educators convey the importance of rangeland conservation while establishing real world connections to science. The curriculum contains 27 science-based lessons that provide engaging, student-centered activities aligned to the core Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to experience many of the curriculum lessons including studies about water, plants, wildlife, livestock, habitat, ecology and stewardship and through the use of models, role play, journaling, science investigations and experiments, Internet and computer lessons, hands-on inquiry, and exciting experiential learning opportunities!
