The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is pleased to announce the 13th Annual DFW Solar Tour!

The DFW Solar Tour enables people to learn how their neighbors – homeowners and businesses alike – are using solar energy, energy efficiency, batteries, and other sustainable technologies to save money and reduce their carbon footprint – even approaching net-zero by generating as much or more energy than they consume! One home this year features a BIPV (building integrated PV) “Solar Roof”!

There will be a wide range of learning opportunities through the host sites, with a range of topics to help the public understand the basics of solar energy & storage, energy efficiency and sustainable practices. Please visit the Tour website for a listing of the host sites planned for this year.

“Advancements in energy storage technology allow some home and business owners to generate, store and consume most of their energy on site. DFW Solar Tour visitors may also learn how ownership options for purchasing & financing, as well as third party ownership options like equipment leases and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) empower the consumer with more energy choices.” NTREG’s Lissa Magel added.

The DFW Solar Tour is organized by the non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer-based North Texas Renewable Energy Group, Inc in cooperation with the Texas Solar Energy Society and the American Solar Energy Society National Solar Tour. The National Solar tour is the largest grassroots renewable energy event in the nation, with more than 30,000 participants and 60+ locations nationwide.
