The Search for the Self: An Emptiness Course & Meditation Retreat
Date(s): Saturday June 20 & Sunday June 21
Time(s):
Saturday, 10am - 3:30pm;
Sunday, 3 sessions, 1:00 - 6:30pm
In Buddhism someone is known as a yogi if they are a qualified meditator. One of the qualifications of meditation is to know what the object of meditation is, and what it is not. We often believe our thoughts and perceptions, especially those we have about our self, or I, even when they are false. In reality, the things we normally see or perceive are understood in mistaken ways, which in turn leads to a great deal of difficulty and confusion. In this workshop and the subsequent retreat we will focus on the emptiness of the self, or I, as our meditation object. The teachings will help us understand what we need to focus on, and what we need to release from our perception. This special weekend event is suitable for everyone who wishes to improve their meditation on emptiness. Join us for the teachings, the retreat, or both. Everyone is welcome!
