Now that farmers markets in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are in full bloom, this is a time to reflect on the God-given riches that lay before us. While corporate agriculture provides a constant menu of everything all the time, the true cost of transporting food all over the world is showing its toxic effects, such as record heat waves and storms brought on by climate change.

How much better it is to find farm-fresh, often organically grown produce in its natural season of bounty and enjoy the natural, life-giving flavor and nutrition. This way we honor the farmers and sustain them as they practice their ancient tradition. Local sustainability such as this is really the backbone of civilization.
