Search for the Cure Continues
The 37th annual Susan B. Komen Dallas Race for
the Cure will take place October 26 at North Park Mall, with a fundraising goal
of $1,200,000, and American Airlines is the top corporate team. This movement
that started here in Dallas in 1982 with
a few hundred women has grown into a global series of more than with nearly 850,000 people participating worldwide. Race day
begins at 6 a.m., with registration and breakfast at Hope Village. The 1k and
5k fun run and walk and the timed 5K begin at 8 a.m. The Survivor March with
the Taylor Pace Orchestra and awards presentation starts at 9:15 a.m.
Komen Dallas County funds life-saving breast
health services to help uninsured and underinsured residents and research to
find the cures so that future generation will not have to face this devastating
disease.
