The fourth annual Dallas Interconnected Growers (DIG) Summit will bring farmers, gardeners, food advocates and community leaders together October 19 at the University of North Texas at Dallas, 7300 University Hills Blvd., to explore ways to build a more sustainable and resilient local food system.

Hosted this year by the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance (FARFA), the summit has grown from more than 100 participants at its inaugural gathering in 2023 to more than 250 attendees in 2025.

Under the theme Cultivating Local Food Systems, the 2026 summit will offer two educational tracks. Growing Food will provide practical techniques and sustainable practices for backyard, community, school and urban growers. Growing Community will explore partnerships, education, policies and programs that can expand local food access and strengthen neighborhoods.

Agroecologist Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin, founder of the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance and co-founder of Tree-Range Farms, will deliver the keynote address. A pre-summit networking reception will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., October 18, at Marca-Brava Spirits.
