Mar 31, 2026 08:41AM ● By Bernice Butler

The Scarborough Renaissance Festival returns April 4 through May 25 in Waxahachie, celebrating its 45th anniversary as one of North Texas’ longest running and most beloved spring traditions.

Set within a re-created 16th-century English village, the festival takes place Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day Monday, offering full-contact jousting, live entertainment, artisan marketplaces and immersive experiences across 25 acres designed to engage visitors of all ages.

New for 2026 is the Royal Dais jousting arena with elevated viewing, an expanded artisan village featuring a Viking marketplace and immersive attractions including the King’s Dungeon and the returning Scarborough Castle experience. Eight themed weekends, from Celtic and Barbarian to Mother’s Day and Memorial Day - offer varied experiences, encouraging guests to return throughout the season.

Daily programming includes the Grande Parade, Birds of Prey demonstrations, live music, interactive performances and family-friendly activities that blend history, storytelling and entertainment in a lively outdoor setting. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
