New research from the Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas suggests meaningful improvements in brain performance may be possible at nearly any age. In a recent BrainHealth Project involving nearly 4,000 participants ages 19 to 94, researchers found measurable gains in brain health over three years through online brain strategy training, lifestyle guidance, personalized coaching and ongoing performance tracking. Published in Scientific Reports, the study indicated there may be “no ceiling for improvement,” even among older adults and high-performing individuals.
Researchers also found participants practicing just five to 15 minutes of daily “micro-training” alongside brain-healthy lifestyle habits achieved some of the strongest results. The center, founded by neuroscientist Dr. Sandra Bond Chapman, is internationally recognized for its work in cognitive performance and resilience.
The center’s 2026 “BrainHealth Presents” resilience series will feature experts including Dr. Alia Crum, Dr. Eli Finkel and former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
